Home MenuStreet Sweeping
The Public Works Department Street Maintenance Division sweeps streets from April to November. The street sweeping program is focused on keeping debris and pollution out of storm sewers and from entering our waterways, as well as street aesthetics.
The Ohio EPA recognizes street sweeping as a pollution prevention practice. Sweeping helps to improve water quality in our local watersheds, including in the Delaware Run and Olentangy River. The street sweeping program is funded in part through monthly storm water utility fees.
The street sweeping program may continue to be refined as the staff examines data collection and areas of high need impacting our waterways.
