The Delaware City Attorney is the legal advisor to the City of Delaware. As head of the Legal Department, the City Attorney also oversees the City Prosecutor’s Office. The Legal Department also coordinates public records requests submitted to the City.

The Delaware City Prosecutor’s Office prosecutes misdemeanor criminal and traffic offenses that occur in Delaware County, Ohio before the Delaware Municipal Court. Due to the volume of cases, the office does not schedule meetings with individuals representing themselves; the office will confer with such individuals at the designated court hearing time.

Neither the City Attorney nor the City Prosecutor’s Office provide legal advice directly to the general public – including those charged with misdemeanor criminal or traffic offenses and ordered to appear before the Delaware Municipal Court.
