The Planning and Community Development Department staffs the Board of Zoning Appeals, Planning Commission, and Historic Preservation Commission. Each of these Boards and Commissions are made up of six citizen volunteers and one City Council representative and are vital to the growth and development of the City of Delaware.
The Board of Zoning Appeals hears requests for Variances to the Zoning Code and meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm as needed.
The Planning Commission reviews Conditional Use Permits, Rezoning applications, and Development Plan applications. They meet on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm as needed.
The Historic Preservation Commission reviews all exterior modifications to buildings within the Downtown Historic District. They meet on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30pm as needed.
Please contact the Planning and Community Development Department prior to submitting any applications for review by these Boards and Commissions.
