Delaware is home to more than 30,000 residents and the number continues to grow as families and business discover that Delaware is a great place to live, work and play. We are the birthplace of presidents - 19th President of The United States Rutherford B. Hayes was born here - and home to excellent public and private school systems, a university, and even a symphony orchestra.

Like other small towns, our challenge is blending the old and the new. But the task is even more demanding in our city. Delaware County, of which Delaware has been the county seat for nearly 200 years, is the fastest-growing county in Ohio and one of the fastest in the nation.

The city is expected to grow 34 percent by 2015, making responsible growth and the continued delivery of quality services to our citizens our No. 1 responsibility. As Mayor, it's my job to brag about our fine city, but we think we're doing a pretty good job.

In Delaware, you'll still find small-town atmosphere, historic character and friendliness. But don't just take my word for it. Come see for yourself.
