2008 Bicentennial

Delaware is 200 years this year and plans are underway to mark this once-in-lifetime celebration. A Delaware City Bicentennial Committee was organized by citizens to plan citywide activities. Planners are focused on three key themes: commemoration of two centuries of city history and culture; celebration of Delaware’s unique heritage; and education about the city and the events that led to its establishment in 1808.
