AirportPart of the Public Works Department, the airport is run by the Airport Manager and provides air service to the City of Delaware. Department Sections Around TownAround Town AttorneyPart of the City Manager’s office, the City Attorney provides legal advice and instruction to all City departments. BicentennialDelaware is 200 years this year and plans are underway to mark this once-in-lifetime celebration. A Delaware City Bicentennial Committee was organized by citizens to plan citywide activities. Planners are focused on three key themes: commemoration of two centuries of city history and culture; celebration of Delaware’s unique heritage; and education about the city and the events that led to its establishment in 1808. The divisions of the City Manager’s office are the Assistant City Manager, City Attorney, Economic Development, Administrative Services and Community Affairs. Economic DevelopmentThe Coordinator works with businesses, organizations and other government entities to improve the economic condition of the City. Department Sections In the NewsMunicipal CourtThe court provides judicial functions for all of Delaware County. Planning and Community DevelopmentThe department manages the development process, maintains the Comprehensive Plan and works with other departments on their functional plans. PoliceThe department provides round-the-clock service and endeavors to assist citizens in eliminating the underlying causes of crime, conflicts and safety hazards.
