This fun community event includes: grilled hotdogs, cookies, a bonfire for roasting marshmallows, pumpkins, treats, games for kids and more! Calls From The North Pole
Imagine the delight when your good little boy or girl gets a call from the North Pole. Santa, Mrs. Claus or their elves will call children ages seven and younger on Thursday, December 2nd between 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. To arrange this personalized call, complete the “Calls from the North Pole” request form (available after November 1st).Return the form by November 29 to the Parks & Recreation office or mail to:

Pumpkin Run
Come run or walk in the Delaware County's largest 5k. Combined with Ohio Wesleyan University's Homecoming weekend, it is sure to be bigger than ever! The Humane Society of Delaware County will receive the proceeds from this year's race. The goal is to raise enough money to spay and neuter 50 feral cats and dogs. Participants registered by September 13th will receive a long sleeve t-shirt and goodie bag. Awards will be given to the top male and female runners and top two walkers. There will also be awards given to the top male and female in each age category. Registration forms can be picked up at the City of Delaware Parks and Recreation Department located at Mingo Park. Turkey Basketball Shoot
Team up for Turkeys! Teams consist of one adult and one child to see who can make the most free throws. For each age division, turkeys will be awarded for first place, pies awarded for second and third place.

Doggie Dive-In
You have spent the summer enjoying the water and relaxing in the sun, now its time to let our four legged friends in on the fun. On Saturday September 11th, the only swimmers allowed in the pool will be your dogs. This is a one dog per person event. Dogs must be licensed, current on all vaccinations and must have the appropriate paperwork on file with our office prior to the event. Friendly dogs only please.

Daddy/Daughter Dance
You are cordially invited to attend the 2nd annual City of Delaware Daddy/Daughter Dance! Please join us for an evening of games and dancing. An ice cream bar will also be available. Moms are welcome to take pictures for the first half hour. The dance will be held at the Council for Older Adults located at 800 Cheshire Rd., Delaware. Formal dress is encouraged. Please be aware that seating is on a first come basis. There is a charge of $10 for every additional daughter.

Individuals and families will soon be able to handle transactions for programs and facilities of the City of Delaware Parks & Recreation Department through our website www.delawareohio.net
In just a few easy steps, you will be able to sign-up for programs, rent a facility or purchase pool or golf memberships. Online payments can be made by credit card.
Beginning with our Spring 2011 Activity Guide, interested persons can visit www.delawareohio.net , select the department's link at the top and click on the link for Parks & Recreation. Prior to registering, each household is asked to complete a Household Registration Form. Forms are available at the Parks & Recreation Office at 500 E. Lincoln Ave or click here. Household Regisration forms must be turned in to the Parks & Recreation Office with proof of residency for those that pay Delaware City Income taxes either from their city address or place of employment in order to register for fall/Winter Activities or to rent a shelter house. All Household forms turned in without proof of residency, will be listed in our system as a non-resident.
