Information Technology

The Information Technologies and Geographic Information Systems Division is a part of the Finance Department. The staff of IT/GIS provide support for all City departments, providing them with network infrastructure, information systems, telephone systems, multifunction devices, hardware and software tools to better perform their job functions within the City.

The City is involved with several initiatives

CIO Forum. The CIO Forum was started by Delaware's CIO as a means to bring CIO's and IT Directors Citywide and Countywide into a discussion-type forum. The effort is aimed at developing communication among peers in the IT industry to foster information sharing and collaboration where possible. The meetings are generally held the 4th Friday of each month from 7:30 am to 9 am at the City's Mingo Park facility. All top-level IT personnel in the Delaware City/County area are invited to attend these interactive conversations and presentations.

Delaware Area Super Highway (DASH). The DASH is a joint effort of Delaware County, Consolidated Electric, Grady Memorial Hospital (Ohio Health), and the City of Delaware to develop fiber optic infrastructure in the Greater Delaware area. We hope to create economic development opportunities for the Delaware Area together.

Central Ohio BroadBand (COBB). The COBB is a joint effort of the cities of Dublin, Westerville, Gahanna, and Delaware, along with the Village of New Albany, and Delaware County, to strategically develop a regional fiber optic infrastructure in Columbus. We believe that this infrastructure will not only provide the opportunity to share services between communities, but to also foster economic development, disaster recovery, and other significant opportunitites in this region for our governments, and our citizens.
