Comprehensive Annual Financial Report
For the 10th year in a row, the City has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, the most recent for the 2011 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The 2012 CAFR has been submitted to the Government Finance Officers Association [GFOA] for review. The CAFR is presented in three sections:
The Introductory Section, which includes a table of contents, this transmittal letter, a list of the City's principal elected and appointed officials, a copy of the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded for the 2011 City of Delaware CAFR, and an organizational chart.
The Financial Section, which includes the Report of the Independent Accountants, Management's Discussion and Analysis, the Basic Financial Statements, including any explanatory notes that support a more detailed overview of the City of Delaware's financial position and results of operations, and the Combining Statements for non-major funds and other schedules that provide information related to the Basic Financial Statements.
The Statistical Section, which includes selected financial and demographic information, is generally presented on a multi-year basis. Several new tables were added for the 2004 CAFR, as per the new Governmental Accounting Standards Board [GASB] requirements.
